2007 Chapter Trips

Camping and fishing on Penns Cr. the middle of the week of May 14   This is a prime week for morning and evening match the hatch fishing for 10 - 20 inch natural browns. This is a picturesque river of great long pools and long sections of pocket water. Poe Paddy has primitive camping located 20 minutes back in Penns woods so bring all your camping gear. Fishing can be quite good right at camp and other areas are immediately accessible. Experienced anglers who can handle drag free drifts with 5x - 7x leaders do well and beginners can succeed during the heaviest hatches when the fish are not so finicky. This trip is limited to five adults. We will setup specific days of this week to accommodate everyone's schedule best we can. I will bring extra flies should anyone need them and help as much as I can.   Contact >>

Midweek of May 23 - Western Maryland Fishing Trip   Our annual trip with great fishing for large fish on the Casselman or lovely river fishing browns on the Savage and Yough. Rivers. Accommodations at the Inn in Grantsville or at New Germany camp ground.   Contact >>

First and Second Week of August - Susquehanna White Fly Fishing   This can be the best surface hatch fishing you have ever had. The hatch can be overwhelming and the fishing for one to five pound smallies simply thrilling. This year we are hoping for normal water levels, and very pleasant wet-wading fishing. Anglers should use a five or six weight long rod for distance casting. During the day with limited hatch activity, use the usual crayfish imitations and popping bugs. The white fly begins in the evening and lasts well after dark. It is very nice to be on the river where we experience frenzied feeding fish with rise forms silhouetted again distant lights! Small white poppers or size 10 and 12 bushy light cahill type flies important attached to nine - 12 foot 3x or 4x leaders. With shallow, clear water conditions, distance casting becomes particularly important to connect with wary fish. Set your own schedule and stay at the Red Rose or other nearby motels. We will setup specific days of the week to accommodate everyone's schedule best we can. I will bring extra flies should anyone need them and help as much as I can.   Contact >> for fishing the first week and for the second week
